Born in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, Suzanne Goyetche grew up with the beauty of the LaHave River and the splendour of the sea around her. She always wanted to paint. Suzanne’s beginnings in art were self-taught. She began with pencil and it was not until 1995 that she ventured into classes with Theresa Nickerson. There was no turning back. She fell in love with painting. Suzanne moved on to acrylics and attended workshops conducted by Shirley Scott, Kim Horgan, Sherry Finch, Herzl Kashetsky, Les Rolston, as well as Nova Scotia marine artist Graham Baker. She now paints with heat-set oils and has turned a corner in her painting which has encouraged her to try new techniques. She particularly enjoys doing landscapes and pet portraits. In 2013 Suzanne began working in a new medium when she was introduced to encaustic art. This medium allows for free thinking and results that are a wonderful surprise expectations. Suzanne’s favorite quote: "I have no idea where I am headed with my art, I only know I eventually want to get there".
